Caleigh began her journey in the veterinary field at 15 years old as a vet assistant in Ohio. There, she learned many significant lessons of animal health care and the importance of maintaining up-to-date medical knowledge.
She went on to work for small pet stores and groomers as she loved helping animals and learning about them in anyway. She developed a love of wildlife photography and after a meeting with National Geographic, she was guided toward a path to relocate from Ohio to California in 2003. Motivated with a dream of professional photography in the forefront, she accomplished international publications of her work in magazines you might of heard of, such as: People Magazine, Bunte (Germany), InStyle (america & India), InTouch, Carmel, Westlake, and New York Magazine.
In 2015 Paws & Claws needed to expand by opening a ground hospital in addition to its Mobile Services. Having Paws & Claws as her own vet since 2007, Caleigh was absolutely thrilled when she was offered a position on the administrative and marketing team. That opportunity gave her the ultimate dream come true to recapture her joy of helping those without a voice and the people that love them. All photos on this website have been taken by her!
Caleigh has four young human children ranging in age from 2-10 years old. They love animals, baseball, softball, chess club, piano and we can’t forget climbing trees and riding bikes. These adventurous kids all say that they plan to be veterinarians when they grow up!
She has four fur babies, a Shi Tzu, a Red Dobby, and two mixes. They range from 6 months to 15 years old. The Shi Tzu is the 15 year old and thanks to Dr Garcia, this pup is just as youthful as the 6 Month old. On top of the fur babies, she also has four California King Snakes, a tortoise, an Asian Water Monitor Lizard, and 17 chickens of different breeds.
She loves them all, fur, scales, shell and feathers!!!
